Adaptive Workout
The difference that makes the difference: a training programme to know yourself and redefine your limits.
Have you ever trained by simulating a motor limitation? What does your body learn, and how much does it learn, when you adapt a movement by momentarily pretending to be without an arm or a leg? Did you know that it is precisely adaptation that allows us to improve certain skills more rapidly, and that a great number of top athletes use limitations on a daily basis to grow and enhance their performance?
Adaptive Workout is a bodyweight training method that combines heart, mind and body. It is, at the same time, an extraordinary workout in which one goes beyond one's own body as it has always been known, experiencing a different one, and living diversity and disability as factors of personal growth. It is awareness, adaptation, the crossing and overcoming of physical boundaries: a barrier that is, above all, a mental one — one that we often perceive — erroneously! — as insurmountable.
Training by simulating a disability enables a shift in perspective, a new way of seeing: a transformation that begins with experimentation. Challenge yourself by confronting the preconceptions you hold about yourself and those around you: redefine yourself and give a new name to what you believe you can or cannot do. Take part in Adaptive Workout: the difference will make the difference.
