FisioScience - Update on Surgery and Rehabilitation Following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in the orthopedic and sports medicine field, with significant implications for the post-operative rehabilitation pathway.

However, successful treatment is not solely determined by the surgical technique itself; it also requires a synergistic integration between the orthopedic surgeon’s intervention and the physical therapist’s rehabilitative management.

This conference aims to provide a comprehensive update on advancements and best practices related to the management of patients undergoing ACL reconstruction, covering every stage of the process: from selecting the most appropriate surgical technique to rehabilitation strategies for returning to physical and sports activities.

Collaboration between orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists is essential for optimizing functional outcomes and preventing re-injury.

The goal of this conference is to overcome such barriers by promoting open and constructive dialogue among the professionals involved in caring for post-operative patients.

Through a program that integrates clinical discussions and scientific evidence, key topics will be explored concerning ACL surgery, functional recovery monitoring, and personalized rehabilitation strategies.

The objective is to establish a meeting point between theory and practice, fostering the acquisition of skills that can be translated into shared, patient-centered treatment protocols.

Therefore, this conference seeks to consolidate a common vision: to ensure that patients have a recovery pathway that is effective, safe, and oriented toward a timely return to activity, minimizing the risk of complications or recurrence.

Once again, FisioScience intends to act as a promoter of an evidence-based and interdisciplinary approach, aiming to support health professionals in refining their expertise and ensuring patient-focused rehabilitation—enhancing collaboration among different professional figures for the shared benefit of patients.
