The Mile Relay

Ola Movement, in collaboration with RiminiWellness, is celebrating its second anniversary by kicking off the RiminiWellnessOFF calendar with 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗔𝗬: a non-competitive relay race in randomly paired teams on a 1-mile (1.6 km) course entirely off-road, set in Rimini’s Marecchia Park.

Date: May 27, 2026

Location: Piazza sull’acqua, Rimini

Schedule: • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Participant meet-up, check-in, and bib pickup • Photos • Bag check • 7:00 PM - 7:30 PM: Briefing and warm-up • 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM: Race • 8:30 PM - 9:00 PM awards ceremony • 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM post-race party with food, drinks, and a DJ set at the newsstand in Borgo San Giuliano

Race Details: The race is a non-competitive mixed-pair relay determined by random draw. Pairs are formed in a balanced manner to even out the overall skill level based on the 5K times participants reported during registration. The draw will be conducted in a balanced way, grouping participants by skill level to ensure evenly matched pairs and promote friendly competition. The course is a completely unpaved, pedestrian-only loop within Marecchia Park, to be completed 3 times per person (meaning each team must complete a total of 6 laps).

Rules: The handoff between relay team members occurs upon contact. The handoff zone will be marked off, and the handoff between the two team athletes may only take place within this zone. During the transition phase, it is important to be mindful of other athletes as well. Any violations will be penalized by the race officials. Wearing a black jersey, preferably without any writing, is encouraged.

Awards Ceremony: At the end of the race, once all pairs have finished running, the awards ceremony will take place. The first three pairs to cross the finish line will receive individual prizes. In addition, there will be a special award for the man and woman who record the fastest single-lap time. Timing will be tracked using the Strava segment. To participate in this competition, athletes must upload the activity to their Strava profile with the privacy setting “Public” and join the Ola Movement Strava club

Post-race: After the awards ceremony, the party continues with dinner and a DJ set in front of the newsstand in the San Giuliano district on Viale Tiberio. Included in the race pack with the meal voucher, you can enjoy: • dinner provided by Pollo&Friends with a special box to replenish your energy • drink voucher for beer/prosecco • Sammontana ice cream

Registration: Registration is handled through the Gomry platform, with payment due at checkout. For the first week, the fee is €15 until May 13; starting May 14, the fee increases to €20. To register, you must have at least BASIC insurance coverage with Ola Movement (€10 per year), available at the following link, or be a GOLD or SILVER member. Once you have filled out the registration form and made the payment, your registration will be temporarily pending approval. Your registration will only be considered final upon receipt of the confirmation email. The day before the race, athletes will receive their bib number along with information about their teammate.
