Alessandra Pelonara

Graduated from the Dance Academy of the Teatro Nuovo in Turin, after a brief career as a professional dancer, she decided to study the real fitness "made in U.S.A." at the American College of Sport and Medicine (A.C.S.M.), the most prestigious university institute of sport in the world.

She subsequently graduated with full marks in Motor Sciences at the San Raffaele University in Rome with an experimental thesis on "Treatment of patients with low back pain using Pilates machines".

Determined to continue her education, she obtained a Master's Degree in Sciences and Techniques of Preventive and Adapted Motor Activities with another experimental thesis entitled "Kinesiological intervention on the cervical spine".

After a personal Pilates course at various Pilates studios in Rome and a preparatory course for the training course, she subsequently studied and attended the Polestar Italia school completing the training course in 2009. Already a teacher at the Studio Pilates Forum Sport Center, she decided to branch out and get to know classical Pilates in depth and trained at the Classical Pilates Italia school of Cristina Pintucci. To stay up to date and to discover every secret of classical Pilates, she attended the specialization course The Classical Syllabus by Mejo Wiggin, her mentor, in New York and in Rome. She also attended the Summer Camp at Vintage Pilates in Los Angeles with Jay Grimes and Sandy Shimoda.

To stay up to date she participates at numerous workshops and masterclasses in Italy and abroad held by well-know teachers in the Pilates sector including Sabina Formichella, Peter Fiasca, Dorotee Wallerdame, Jean Claude Nelson, Inelia Garcia, Alycea Ungaro, Juan Estrada and Patricia Medros.
