Flavio Augusto Gentile

Flavio Gentile is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of REA Space, the Italian space startup based in Puglia that develops high-technology wearable solutions to support human beings in microgravity conditions and extreme environments. Professional background: before founding REA Space, he worked in technical sportswear, particularly highly technological swimsuits for competitive sports. Vision and leadership: the idea for REA Space was born during the pandemic, when Gentile, inspired by exposure to the physiological effects of microgravity on astronauts, decided to transfer his textile expertise towards space solutions. Current role: he leads the company, defining the global strategy, space product development and innovation; under his leadership, the EMSi suit has been tested on an orbital mission and won the ADI Compasso d'Oro 2024 award for design together with REA Space.
