Simone Fontecchio

Simone Fontecchio is a professional basketball player in the role of forward, currently in the NBA with the Miami Heat. After a long career in Europe, he made his NBA debut in 2022 with the Utah Jazz. In the 2023–24 season he plays between the Utah Jazz and the Detroit Pistons, significantly increasing his minutes on the court and standing out for consistency and performance. In the summer of 2025 he joins the Miami Heat, where he quickly fits into Erik Spoelstra's rotation, establishing himself as a reliable asset for versatility and impact on both ends of the floor. Prior to his NBA experience, he spent 11 professional seasons in Europe, playing in the Italian Serie A, EuroLeague, and Spanish Liga ACB with Virtus Bologna, Olimpia Milano, Reggio Emilia, Cremona, Alba Berlino, and Baskonia. He is a cornerstone of the Italian National Team, with appearances at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the FIBA 2023 World Cup, reaching the quarterfinals in both competitions. At EuroBasket 2025 he sets the record for points scored by an Italian player in a single game with 39 points.
