Giulio Maria Marcheggiani Muccioli

Prof. Giulio Maria Marcheggiani Muccioli has distinguished himself in the field of orthopedics, starting with a degree with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 2006, followed by a specialization with honors in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna and a PhD in Surgical Sciences. Prof. Marcheggiani Muccioli's career includes the academic role of Associate Professor of Orthopedics at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Bologna, where he has deepened topics of biomechanics and pathology of the lower and upper limb. He has expanded his skills through international fellowships, including experiences in the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States, establishing himself as an Orthopedic Surgeon with extensive practical experience, attested by over 250 surgeries per year. Finally, Prof. Marcheggiani Muccioli significantly contributes each year to the training of new generations of doctors through university teaching in multiple medical and surgical disciplines. INTERNATIONAL MEMBER OF AAHKS (American Association for Hip and Knee Surgeons) He is one of the 10 Italian surgeons who in the last 20 years have been selected by the American Knee Society to participate in the prestigious John Insall Fellowship on Knee Replacement Surgery. Active member of ESSKA, ISAKOS, SIAGASCOT (main European sports traumatology scientific societies). He has been part of the Editorial Board of Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy (KSSTA) since 2016 and Associate Editor of The Knee journal since 2019. His prolificacy in the field manifests in over 250 scientific publications (h-index 38) and a constant presence in academic and congress settings, demonstrating an incessant commitment to innovation in the treatment of knee and shoulder pathologies, and in the advancement of minimally invasive surgical techniques and sports traumatology.
