Magdalena Zoledziewska

Magdalena Zoledziewska is a geneticist, senior scientist at the Italian National Research Council (CNR). She has been focused on understanding the etiopathology of immune-mediated disorders, comprising autoimmunity, in the broad context of the evolutionary history of a population and interacting environment. She has been studying inter-individual differences in the expression of diverse phenotypes including immune-related traits, translating that knowledge to improve the therapeutic strategies. Her research includes characterization of genetic variability with functional considerations and their impact on diseases. Using a multidisciplinary approach by cross-comparison of the phenotyped quantitative variables with population-based genetic data, she try to understand the critical factors driving pathology comprising differences in immune response variation between individuals and apply this knowledge into precision therapies.
